Puppy Instructions
Do's and Don'ts
Do NOT
- puppy must not fall from high places (sofas, counter tops, dropped)
- Puppy must not SKIP meals
- Not recommended to take puppy to dog parks or other outside places where unvaccinated animals may be.
- Not Extreme temperatures ( below 70 or above 85 degrees)
- Puppy must not skip nap times (puppies need sleep to grow properly)
- Do NOT sleep with puppy on bed. ( one little squish can be very bad)
- Keep puppy away from other animals as much as possible
- Do Not let strangers play with puppy ( they may not have washed their hands)
- Heartworm Medication is administered after 12 weeks of age.
- No Doggie Playdates until 4 months or older.
Always DO
- Feed puppy and give treats
- start training early and stay consistent
- give lots of attention and love
- always give vitamins ( until 6 months of age)
- keep puppy clean and washed (tear free puppy shampoo)
- introduce toys and different noises ( car rides, music, vacume)
- make your own routine and gradually switch her routine
- comfort puppy when she is scared
- introduce clothing and bows early
- introduce a brush and blow dryer early
- play with feet and toes often ( makes it easier for nail trims later)
Supplies List
- Doggie bowls (water available at all times)
- Puppy Pads (potty training outside starts at 12 weeks)
- Dog Crate XSmall ( naptime and bedtime in crate)
- Purina Puppy Chow or Cesar Puppy Chow
- Nutrical or GNC high calorie puppy vitamins (For small breeds) *until 6mo. Old
- Puppy playpen (For daytime play while supervised)
- Washable Puppy Bed or towel
